Music Dance and Drama

Music Dance and Drama sessions are held to create awareness among the risky population:

These are used to pass messages on Anti-stigma and discrimination, health talks are carried out during search sessions, condom use and importance is taught to the population. The health workers also provide other biomedical services during these drama session such as PMTCT, HCT, SMC, Family planning and other reproductive health services, condom use illustration, EID service provision, GBV service provision.

The community local leaders, cultural leaders, religious leaders and peer leaders also offer HIV /AID prevention and family planning counseling service at these drama sessions.

Giving testimonies, sports, community mobilization and sensitization, The Behaviour Change Communication interventions mainly target individual groups, families and communities in high risk areas like the fisher folks, boda boda riders, People Living with HIV/AIDs, truck drivers, Commercial Sex workers, incarcerated populations, pregnant and lactating mothers, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) , bars and bar attendant and their clients, youth in and out of school and the general population. These target groups are reached through their leaders who are identified by community members and these are trained by the organisation in Health matters/Issues by the organisation, NGOs among others distributes IEC/BCC materials to the targeted populations.

Creating awareness through sports in order to capture the youth in and out of school, This tournament is organized every year and it is becoming a district brand for Sikyomu.
