P/EMTCT

It is hard to talk about Zero tolerance to HIV/AIDs if the mothers going for Antenatal care are not looked after and their HIV/AIDs status is not known hence Sikyomu Development Organization For PHAs and its partners has been encouraging compulsory HIV/AIDs Testing and Counseling to all mothers who go for Antenatal care, when found positive the mothers are given counseling by Sikyomu trained Network support Agent/Village Health Team/Community Resource Person (CORP) on how to live a health life during pregnancy and how to give birth to a healthy baby who is HIV negative, It has been noted that 96% of the women who enroll for our program of P/EMTCT have given birth to HIV negative baby although themselves are HIV/AIDs positive hence contributing to the national goal of zero tolerance to HIV/AIDs.

A P/EMTCT session at one of the Health centers supervised by Sikyomu Note these sessions have picked up and since we encourage male involvement in the photo many male have come up to follow our programs
