Education Support

Everybody has a right to education, which has been recognized since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948.The right to free and compulsory primary education, without discrimination and of good quality, has been reaffirmed in all major international human rights conventions. Despite this, many of these same instruments encourage, but do not guarantee, post-primary education.

These rights have been further elaborated to address issues like quality and equity, moving forward the issue of what the right to education means and exploring how it can be achieved. At Sikyomu Development Organization we cherish this and encourage equal rights to education be it the boy or girl education, with this we have been and continuing to encourage equal quality rights on education for both the boys and girls most especially for the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), affected and infected by the HIV/AIDs scourge. Faced with a challenge we are supporting 27 OVCs with scholastic materials a very term however there still a big gap that needs to be bridged since some themdo not have school fees to continue with their education, Sikyomu will continue to strive so that these children receive a better living most especially get a higher level of education in Vocational and tertiary institutions.
